At the end of 2019 some 920 (858 in 2018) active stations were tracked. 3.6 billion web hits (1.94 billion in 2018) were registered for 2019, and approximately 25 TB (21 TB in 2018) of data was downloaded during 2019. Finally, the uptime for the servers of the facility during 2019 was 99.79%.

In many countries, systematic sea level observations have been carried out since the early to mid-1800s. Despite this rich historical legacy, documents with these records are hidden in archive centers. Most of these analog documents are not adequately inventoried. Global number of tide gauges decline due to GPS "week roll over" on 6 April 2019

A number of tide gauges have stopped working due to a US GPS "week roll over" which took place on 6 April 2019. Some 858 active stations are now tracked almost the same number as at the start of the year. A 1.94 billion web hits were registered for 2018, and approximately 21 TB of data was downloaded during 2018. Finally, the uptime for the servers of the facility during 2018 was 99.98%.
